A consortium of 13 companies, including 13 multinational companies, enterprises and research institutes from the United States, Japan and Europe, will research and develop advanced technologies such as packaging silicon wafers in Singapore this year Supported by the Singapore government, the Singapore Institute of microelectronics technology invests s s S $2million (US $1 or S $1.65) annually to develop five projects of interest to the consortium.
